Rare Press Molded Horn Comb in the form of a Native American
Circa: 1820
Size: 6 1/2" H x 1 3/4" W
I have not had one of these in eight years - this is a neat faux tortoiseshell comb made from stained and pressed horn. Typical of the type the figure is an American Indian in full regalia. Beautifully detailed (note the metal inset earrings).
Condition: Very Good. Typical loss of tines as seen in first image. Small loss to one side of headdress (see above) and loss of one hand (see figures left arm, first image).
